Spell Skill Priority
To play Gwen to her full potential, we recommend using runes that give you good dueling skills. The primordial rune "Conqueror" fulfills this function very well. Regarding her build, in order of priority we recommend you to buy an Everfrost, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, a Cosmic Drive, a Lich Bane, a Resolve Staff and finally a Zhonya's Hourglass.
Gwen's spells give her damage, mobility, and a bit of utility. Her Q is her main skill, which she has to load up with her basic attacks and deals very decent damage in front of her. This especially synergizes with her passive, which allows her basic attacks to deal extra damage. Gwen's W, Hallowed Mist, is her most important defensive tool, allowing her to surround herself with an area that makes her impervious to opposing Champions who are not in it. Gwen's E is a dash, which allows her to reposition herself and has a reduced cooldown when she attacks an enemy after using it.
Finally, Gwen's ultimate ability casts one, then three, then five needles, each inflicting magical area damage and slowing down affected targets. Gwen must attack a Champion after each use in order to reroll the spell and cast more needles.
