In LoL's classification, Rammus is a "Tank". He rolls and dives into the heart of Melee to control his opponents while being able to take a lot of damage. He is a hybrid character, who inflicts physical and magical damage, and is usually found in the jungle. He is very effective at reaching his target and controlling it, forcing it to attack him. He can initiate teamfights and become very resistant, especially against Champions who inflict physical damage.

To play Rammus, you should bet on defense in the runes, with notably Aftershock in main rune, which allows him to be very resistant once he hit an opponent.

In terms of items, we recommend defensive items as needed in the game, with Plated Steelcaps, Turbo Chemtank, Thornmail, Abyssal Mask and Force of Nature.

Rammus's passive allows him to deal extra magical damage to his basic attacks, which increases based on his armor. His Q, Powerball, turns into a ball that goes faster and faster. It deals damage and slows down the first target it hits in this form. Conversely, his W allows him to adopt a defensive stance, greatly increasing his armor and magic resistance and allowing him to return damage, but also slowing him down. His E allows him to force an opponent to attack him for a few seconds.

Finally, Rammus' ultimate skill, Soaring Slam, allows him to throw himself into the air and control and deal damage to enemies in the area he lands. The higher his movement speed, the greater the range of his R.

Ally Tips

Powerball can be used as an effective escape mechanism.

Using taunt on a champion by your tower can cause the tower to attack your enemy.

Tremors and Defensive Ball Curl can be used late in the game to obliterate towers. If you're bogged down in a team fight, it is often valuable to break off and attack the buildings.

Enemy Tips

Pay particular attention to when his Defensive Ball Curl is off. Rammus Runes has much lower stats than a normal tank when he's out of the stance.

Rammus Runes often stacks high Armor, leaving him especially vulnerable to caster damage while not in Defensive Ball Curl.

Idolized by many, dismissed by some, mystifying to all, the curious being Rammus Runes is an enigma. Protected by a spiked shell, he inspires increasingly disparate theories on his origin wherever he goes—from demigod, to sacred oracle, to a mere beast transformed by magic. Whatever the truth may be, Rammus Runes keeps his own counsel and stops for no one as he roams the Shuriman desert.
